My Place ELP B part 1

This is where i live IOI resort F block.

I think that this place is very fancy. In most places i have lived before i haven't lived in a resort with a pool, a mini-mart that sells pork and other awesome stuff (in a muslim country), a golf course, and a gym. So this place seems fancy to me. I have also noticed that it has many problems like pipe leaks, beetles, and window sealing problems. It is a giant place with many apartments, most empty. It is a new resort. Also there is a mall being built next to the resort IOI mall so most of the real-estate agents are waiting for it to be finished so when sold more money. So the place is fancy and empty. When you come here you feel small. Mainly because the size and what the cost might be.

I think that putrajaya would look like a little part of a giant rainforest. Also with some streams and rivers here and there.

Key Features of map.

The most important thing for a map is the borders. The names wont be anything if you dont have the information of where it starts and ends. The settlements are also important because they tell where the people live and somewhat tells if it is inhabited or not. The rivers and water are important, if you dont know where land starts and water ends it will be hard to see where things are. There is low-lying land but not so low, 1 level just above lowest. that is the normal height. There are a few mountains, but not so high. Mini-mountains.

What do you need to think about when making a map of an area?

When making a map you must have a key. A key shows where things are. You must also label the different areas in the map for example the continents, oceans, seas, cities, rivers, and the country names. THe maps must also be accurate.

How have humans affected various fantastic places?

• In one paragraph write an answer to the question, thinking about what you have learned.

humans have changed natural fantastic places in many ways, more destroying than creating in the process. They have caused pollution and extinction creating manmade fantastic places. When humans create manmade fantastic places ,ones built in modern times mainly, because of pollution and habitat destruction it is a slow form genocide. Not intend but still our blame. Humans can either have modern fantastic places or natural.

• Why do you think this topic is important?

Because, we must learn to admire and respect the things around us. Without this ability we may become destructive.

• Which learning opportunities did I most enjoy doing?  Why?

I enjoyed creating the ELP 2 ecosystem in a shoebox the most because it was a chance to express my creativity. I also enjoyed creating the stranded diary because i liked mixing facts with fiction.

• Which learning opportunities did I least enjoy doing?  Why?

I thought that the time when we learnt "What are Fantastic places?" we spent 2 weeks on that when all we needed was a plain definition.

• What skills have I used?

Include 3 examples of work that show these skills.

- I used my imaginative writing skills to create my Stranded Diary.

-I used my information processing skills when searching for information on my fantastic ecosystems project.

- I used my Creativity skills when creating the ecosystem in a shoebox.

• How can the learning in this topic help me in the ‘real world’?

HOMEWORK MY PLACE LIVE

i live in IOI resort near Puchong, Malaysia. This is not necessarily my place but i was told that where i live at the moment should be my place. An image to describe this would be the resort from a birds eye view but also looking from an angle showing the pool's small waterfall all the way to the tall neighboring building next to mine. not forgetting the  six small that in one i take residence in. I can think of a few better countries than Malaysia mainly just me loving my nationalities i prefer nice cold Latvia, United States of America, and Australia. I prefer latvia because of the coolness. I prefer america because of the level of modern stuff  and some of my family lives there, and i prefer Australia because of the nice people that take residence alongside my relatives there.

ELP 2 Reflection

What were the key success criteria?

Have you achieved them? Explain why or why not

 -  to research the main features of your chosen ecosystem

    -  to be able to show these features in the form of a diorama

    -  to be able to accurately name and label the key features

I believe that i have reached the first success criteria because my mind is overflowing with facts about the rainforest.

I believe that i could have put a little more effort into my diorama after seeing Lakshman's diorama. But i also know that i have shown the key features and did just a tad bit more than needed.

I think i did well for the naming and labeling because i named labeled and actually described what they were doing.

 

What did you learn from this learning opportunity? 

I learnt about how you can express things easily with dioramas. But that is not the main thing that i learnt. It is that the rainforest is a dangerous place if messed with but when you know how to respect and live in sync with the rainforest it is easy to see its natural beauty.

 

Why did I learn it?

What value does this learning have? What impact does it have on how I live my life?

It taught me to respect nature which is a useful skill during these times when the nature of the world is already in distress.

I mainly learnt by thinking logically step by step if you see my research notes and see the area about climate that is a good example. But where i got the information for the logical thinking is the internet.

What did I learn about how I learn?

I learnt about how you can express things easily with dioramas. But that is not the main thing that i learnt. It is that the rainforest is a dangerous place if messed with but when you know how to respect and live in sync with the rainforest it is easy to see its natural beauty.

What can I do next time to improve my learning?

-I could be a little less logical because when i think logical i get off subject.

Description of Diorama

Description of what is happening in the Rainforest!

In my rainforest diorama many things are happening.

There are 2 monkeys sitting next to each other and keeping company by grooming each other.

There is an ant eater venturing out and scavenging for food.

There are two mini poisonous and deadly frogs they stand there waiting for prey to arrive.

There is also a sloth hanging from a tree just minding his own business, relaxing.

There is also a little stream running all the way to the far off distance and then going out of view.

The anaconda is stalking prey and stays quiet to kill it with no problem.

There is a tree reaching into the sky with the sun beating right down on it and animals interacting.

There are two parrots sitting just, sitting there plucking feathers off themselves.

What Bear Gryll needs to survive!

To survive Bear MUST first make a shelter that would conceal him from the predators and the rain. Maybe a little hut type thing in a tree made of sticks and fallen leaves. He also has the option of building a little hut on the ground with a fire nearby to ward off predators. For food sources he must find a edible plant like a mago tree to scavenge off. He can also hunt some weaker animals like capybara or warthog for protein. For fresh water he may be able to find a fresh water spring even though unlikely if he does he should set up base camp there. Another way to get water would be to find a plant that holds water within it like some fat juicy leaves.

What would you like to Ms. Gita to share with your parents?

I would like my mother to know what i did. Mainly what i understood. I mainly understood: Why ecosystems are where they are, why the specific climates have formed as well as how, I also learnt about the formations of land, and everything else that was learnt.

what i have learnt about my ecosystem

I have mainly learnt about hazards and cautions, climate, and how humans can effect the ecosystem. What i learnt more specifically is what you should be aware of when you are stranded in the rainforest. How the climate effects the rainforest. As said before i cant get more specific: how humans can effect the ecosystem.

Patterns

Patterns are when something is reoccurring and not changing for example: GFDSGFDSGFDSGFDS. This pattern is  a repeat of GFDS. It doesn't always have to be the same it can be similar like when things happen they never happen in exactly the same time for example: lets say someone is constantly winning in the 100 meter race, a pattern, but they never would have exactly the same time.

I believe that i can reach ,possibly surpass with extra effort, this succes criteria.

The reason is that for each one i have enough prior knowledge and logic to help me.

I can do this one because i have the ability to think both as an artist and a logical learner at the same time, with that ability it will be easy to connect my ideas to come up with an answer.

This succes criteria may be a little harder for me because i cannot think that well about my natural nature and what represents it.

I would be able to do that easily because to chose a picture that represents my creativity i would need a good reason to pick that picture which i would naturally find before i pick it ,i do not like picking things without meaning no matter how hard.

Now that i think about it this is the easiest one to do for me because i just have to research, understand, and rewrite that i am used to, so piece of cake.

Ecosystem

Ecosystems are a place and habitat where animals live and thrive. An example of an ecosystem is a jungle, it's a specific place with specific plants and animals its even almost a place designed for natural life to thrive  in harmony.

Communicating and collaborating

Our group has been collaborating great. We ask others opinions before we do something then we split up the jobs (if needed for example small job) evenly and fairly. We talk about what to do for homework and as     before we split the jobs fairly.

FP Question

Honestly i do not know. I was sick for the last two days. If i use my info from before i was sick were not even close. But from what my group members tell me we are very close but i am not sure.

Success Criteria

My success criteria for myself is: To research and understand both of my fantastic places. I also want to know how and why the fantastic places are there. I also want to have a successful interesting project.

why did my group choose Batu Caves and The Aztec Pyramid of the Sun

We chose Batu Caves because it seemed interesting and cool. Also because we couldnt think of anything better to do that is a cave. we chose caves in plain because they are interesting. We chose the aztec pryamid of the sun because it sounded interesting as well as we were interested in aztec history.

Fantastic place to present

i want to either talk about Iceland or Switzerland or the secret part of the Vatican. Iceland and switzerland mainly because they're exotic iceland for natural things like wildlife and switzerland for ChOcOlAtE. Vatican because i like knowing secrets. :))))))))

Fantastic is basically the word amazing but spelled different. It is used in for example "You did a fantastic job for swimming".  Fantastic is basically good great awesome amazing all mixed together.

I changed the time duration of the pages with writing. But for some it didn't work when i tried to change the . So i'm not completely finished.

How have you organized your movie?

I used a system where I put some pictures, then I did a title saying what they were.  On each picture I put subtitles of exactly what they are.  Between the pictures there are transitions which are necessary.  I have added cyber like music.
